BWMSBA Ruthin Sale 2025
An increased entry and brisk trade at the BWMSBA Ruthin Sale.
Held at Ruthin Livestock market on Friday 19th September, a quality entry saw a brisk trade for all categories of stock.
Topping the sale, just shy of equalling the breed record, the pre-sale show champion (judged by H Williams, Llandeilo, was a shearling tup from the Eryri flock of G Williams, Pwllheli. Sired by Wenallt Yes Sir, Eryri Gladiator sold for 2750gns to D & R Rowlands, Gaerwen. The reserve male champion, Pwll Pridd George was sired by Llanover Black Prince Fagus and bred by L & I Evans, Corwen. He sold for 1050gns and joins the flock of E Morgan, Caerphilly. Making 950gns was another tup from G Williams, Eryri Garibaldi. Sired by Garnview Dafydd, he joins the Fedw flock of W Workman, Trecastle. Top priced ram lamb from Mr Workman sold for 550gns to D & E Clarke, Caerwys.
Shearling ewes were in demand with the top price going to an Eppynt Cowboy sired ewe from H Williams. Unshown as her breeder was judge for the day, she went to 700gns in the ring and sold to D & E Clarke. The same purchaser also acquired a Llanover sired yearling ewe from I & J Jones for 660gns and a Gaer Deiniolen sire ewe from D & R Rowlands for 600gns. Also going with them, was the female and reserve breed champion, Twilight shearling bred by K Davies & D Jones, Rowen, sold for 500gns. The top priced ewe lamb was from W Workman. She sold for 500gns to P Moyle, Llanbrynmair.
