Wenallt Flock - 00866

Established in 1996 the flock is run commercially and are constantly put under environmental pressure at 750-1200 feet in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This is probably the reason why the sheep thrive and excel when they are moved to a new flock where life may be a little easier, competition a little less and grass considerably more.

Although showing is very limited these days due to family commitments and pressure of work the flock has done considerable showing in the past and has achieved many accolades which we believe have not been surpassed by any other Black Welsh Mountain flock in the history of the breed.

10 Times Flock Of The Year

28 Major Show Championships

Interbreed Pairs Champion Royal Bath & West

Interbreed Pairs Champion Royal Three Counties

Reserve Upland Interbreed Champion Royal Welsh

Breed Record Price Female (ewe lamb) sold at Public Auction

The only flock to have sold females for 4 figures at public auction

Breed Record Price Shearling ewe Sold at public auction

The first flock to sell multiple males on the same day for 4 figures and the flock that has sold the most 4 figure rams at public auction.

We feel proud to have bred many males and females that have gone on to strongly influence other successful flocks with their progeny going on to be major show champions. None more so than a recent Royal Welsh show where the Breed Champion & Reserve were both sired by 2 different Wenallt rams we had sold.

Our success has been based on functional females able to survive in the hill environment, bred for the quality, correctness and most importantly true breed type retaining the hill character and survivability instinct that we feel is so important to maintain a functional mountain ewe.

We only offer for sale a very limited number of the very best rams that meet our very strict and high criteria. Please contact us early to discuss your requirements and put your name down to ensure you get what you are looking for. Females of all ages are regularly available but highly sought after so again please contact us early to avoid disappointment.
